Tamil music is the most ancient music, as its roots are found in the magnum opus of Ilanko Adikal, “Silappadikaram,” written in the 5th – 6th century AD. This drama is enriched with many songs which are in various Pans (Ragas).
The pan Sevvazhipalai, which is equivalent to Lalit of Hindustani music was also used during the Silappadikaram era.
Some Pans and their equivalent nomenclature in Carnatic Music are:Andali Kurinji-Sama

The musical tradition of Tamil is simply awesome. One should be proud of the raga system in ancient tamil music. The base pan in Tamil music was Chevvazhi (Harikamboji). By sruthi bhedam 6 more ragas were developed and thus the 7 sampoorna ragas of ancient Tamil Music were created.
Kurinji pann in carnatic is called as Harikambodhi raaga.
Actually Harikambodhi differs from plain Kambodhi.
Harikambodhi consists all 7 swaras both ascending and descending ,
but in Kambodhi there will be only 6 swaras in ascending as SA RE GA PA DA SA.
NI will be missing in ascending.
But you put Kurinji pann as Shankara Bharanam.
It’s wrong
So pls change that mistake.
But I like because you are trying to spread real music knowledge to everyone ,but before it check it twice.Thank you.
Thankyou for your observation. Will definitely correct. Kamboji is a Shadava Sampoorna Bhashanga Raga with arohanavarohanam sa ri ga ma pa dha sa – sa ni dha pa ma ga ri sa. The Bhashanga swara is Kakali Nishadam.
Thank You Mr Prithiv Kumar for your valuable comments
